ICC dockets 25-0677 / 25-0679: ComEd large-load tariff for data centers

enacted

ComEd filed large-load tariffs on Jun 23, 2025. The Illinois Commerce Commission approved them in March 2026 (Capitol News Illinois, about Mar 19, 2026): deposits of $1 million for 50-200 MW projects plus $500,000 for each additional 100 MW, against a ComEd pipeline of more than 75 projects and 28,000 MW. The Commission ordered staff to open an investigation into protecting other customers from data center costs by Apr 23, 2026. NRG, environmental groups and consumer advocates intervened. The order's exact date, the investigation docket and the commissioners' vote are UNVERIFIED (the ICC e-docket is behind a CAPTCHA).
