Georgia PSC order certifying Georgia Power capacity from the 2029-2031 All-Source RFP and supplemental resources (dockets 56298 and 56310)

enacted

Order Adopting Stipulation and Granting Certification, by action of the Commission in Administrative Session on December 19, 2025 (filed December 30, 2025): adopts the December 9, 2025 stipulation between Georgia Power and the Public Interest Advocacy Staff and grants certificates for Bowen Units 7-8, Wansley Units 10-11, McIntosh Unit 12, battery storage at South Hall and Bowen and the RFP power purchase agreements, the capacity Georgia Power sought for forecast large-load (data center) growth. The Commission "unanimously voted in favor of adopting the Stipulation." Georgia Power must backstop large-load revenue so residential rates see at least $8.50 per month of downward pressure in 2029-2031. Southern Company's Form 8-K of December 19, 2025 puts the certified capacity at 9,885 MW and the company-owned capital at $16.3 billion (press-reported figures, not in the order).
