City of Abilene: property-tax abatement agreements with Lancium LLC for the Stargate data center site (2025)

The Abilene City Council approved the Second Amended and Restated Tax Abatement Agreement and Second Tax Abatement Agreement with Lancium, LLC and Abilene DC 1–8, LLC on February 13, 2025 (effective March 17, 2025), covering up to eight data center buildings in Reinvestment Zone RZ21-1, and on August 28, 2025 by Resolution No. 171-2025 split them into separate per-building agreements (phases 1–8). The original Lancium abatement agreements date to December 17, 2021. Business Insider reported the terms as an 85 percent abatement for ten years on a $3.5 billion project.
