HB 706 (Ohio, 136th GA): minimum requirements on data center customers statewide

Introduced

Introduced February 17, 2026 by Rep. Tristan Rader: would require large data center customers of every Ohio utility to sign contracts with minimum billing demand, long-term service terms, exit fees and collateral, mirroring the AEP Ohio tariff, and bar utilities from shifting data-center-caused costs to other customers. Referred to committee; no further action by October 2026.
