Geographic Analysis
This map shows tracked direct contributions across the United States two ways: by the contributor's state (where the money came from) and by the candidate's state (which state's candidates received it). The two measures count different populations. They are shown separately and not netted. Click any state for a detailed breakdown. All figures are QPQ Tracker direct contributions only. They exclude independent expenditures and are not full FEC cycle totals.
Contributor state is the FEC contributor address state. Candidate state comes from election results, FEC candidate registration, or the candidate's profile. Entities without a known state are excluded from the measure that needs it. Presidential candidates are not assigned a state. Only donation rows that pass the standard exclusions (no conduit memos, self-transfers, unverified name matches, quarantined or superseded rows) are counted.
